This Privacy Policy explains how CLIPTALY ("Cliptaly", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the Cliptaly Android app and the website cliptaly.com (together, the "Service"). We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws of India.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form), or your name and email if you sign in with Google. Your language choice and optional display name.
• Content you give us: the scripts you write and your choices for each video (style, length, language, voice, aspect ratio).
• Videos we make for you: the video files created from your script.
• Purchase data: when you subscribe or pay for a video, Google Play tells us the product, order ID and purchase status. We never see or store your card or UPI details; Google handles the payment.
• Credits and usage records: your plan, credits added and used, and your video history.
• Ads data: if you use the free version, Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and device information to show and measure ads, including rewarded ads for free previews.
• App and device data: app version, device model, operating system, crash reports and basic in-app events (for example, "video created"), collected through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
• Notification token: a device token from Firebase Cloud Messaging, so we can tell you when your video is ready.

2. How we use your data

• To create your account, sign you in, verify your email and reset your password.
• To turn your script into a video and deliver it to you.
• To manage subscriptions, credits and one-time video payments, and to return credits or payments when a video fails.
• To show ads to free users and to verify rewarded ads.
• To find and fix crashes and improve the app.
• To prevent misuse, fraud and abuse of free previews.
• To answer your questions and complaints.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.

3. How your scripts are processed

Your script is turned into scenes, images, voice and video by AI models that we run on our own cloud servers. We do not send your scripts to outside AI companies, and we do not use your scripts or videos to train AI models.

4. Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers that help us run Cliptaly, and only for that purpose:

Some of these providers may process data outside India. We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service. We do not sell your personal data.

5. How long we keep data

• Video files: deleted automatically from our servers within 24 hours of being made. Please download your video to your gallery before then.
• Account data, scripts and video history: kept while your account is active, and deleted when you delete your account.
• Purchase and tax records: kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require (up to 8 years).
• Crash and analytics data: kept by Firebase for a limited time under Google's own retention settings.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you;
• correct or update your data;
• delete your account and data (see Delete account);
• withdraw your consent (this may mean you can no longer use the Service).

Write to hello@cliptaly.com from the email address linked to your account. You may also nominate another person to use these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to act. If you are not happy with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

7. Ads and your choices

Free users see ads from Google AdMob. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your phone). Subscribers do not see ads.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access rules that let each user see only their own data, and short-term video storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will inform you and the authorities of a data breach as the law requires.

9. Children

Cliptaly is only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the Service, write to us and we will delete the account.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is important.
